As Promised...

The #1 video for the year:

I'm pretty sure that the small explosions that I'm hearing outside are fireworks, and not gunshots; the incidence of celebratory gunfire is much less in this neighborhood than it is around E. 40th or in Tremont...actually it's already stopped. Apparently, the recession is having an ameliorating effect on irrational behavior...

Bonus! Mumblin' Jim kicks out the jams:

But, really, probably even better is the rehearsal scene where Jack Nicholson as Stoney castigates the keyboard player for not playing dotted quarters...

A day late (again)

James "The Hound" Marshall has pointed out on his HoundBlog (click on the header to go there) that Robert Quine would have been 67 on 12/30/09. Also, he's put up links to a number of film cues that are his last recordings. Here's some monre Quine:

Note: This search engine will show results for the exact character sequence you type, case-insensitive, including spaces. "Mais où sont les neiges d'antan?"

I used to see this in the cinema every now and again, bawling my eyes out at the end. The last time I went to see it, I was crying in the car on the way there. Now I can't watch it at all...
