Stream of Unconsciousness

There was a benefit for Laura Kennedy's medical expenses in MPLS, MN, recently (she recently had a liver transplant, though the relevant website lklf.blogspot.com doesn't say so...) (she was a former member, no pun intended, of Johnny and the Dicks, as well as Tender Buttons and the Bush Tetras), and the Bush Tetras flew in from NY to play, also local combo the Suicide Commandos played, shown here with Crocus Behemoth performing as "Dave" Thomas:

Hey, that's not SC and DT! No one told me. Here it is:

I remember watching CB's regular band Pere Ubu playing at the Agora (Motto: "There's nothing as frightening as ignorance in action," and that place proved it regularly...).
They were playing "Final Solution," and one of their former guitarists, Tim Wright, was in town from NY, and he scoffed (what a great word!) "They haven't been able to play this song since I left the band!" Here he is a few years ago in BKLN:

That was a performance titled "CAVE." Here is a video for the song "Cavern" by the NY band Liquid Liquid. Some might recognize the msuic as forming the basis of "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (although Grandmaster Flash himself was frozen out of his own band by that point...):

"Cave" is also Minutemen-lingo, or Pedro-speak (http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/Watt/pedrospeak/speak.html) for an empty gig...
Mike Watt (http://hootpage.com/) of the Minutemen played bass for Scarcity of Tanks
(http://scarcityoftanks.blogspot.com/) at some of their California shows in January.
Here is a clip from one of their gigs:

Speaking of Mikes, there's this guy Mike Long from Hamilton, Ontario, that does a lot of dance videos...here's he's dancing to "Sickles & Hammers" by the Minutemen:

And here he's dancing to a Bush Tetras tune:

Cynthia Sley, nee Womersley, the singer for the Tetras, was also a member of Johnny and the Dicks, a group concocted by John Morton, formerly of the electric eels...here is Mike Long dancing to one of their songs in a coffeeshop:

I used to sit around and drink a lot of coffee with Johnny Phlegm. We shared an apartment in Tremont near the Tremont West Development Corporation, TWDC for short, which we applied to ourselves as Two Weirdos Drinking Coffee. At one point, he had a band named Agitated:
