What is a mummy but a kind of cover?

A quick survey of covers of various Beefheart songs (and you can click on the header for Rhodri Marsden's "Christmas" version of the end section of "Veterans Day Poppy")...

The wonderful Coati Mundi covers Captain Beefheart in this cut from his 1983 album "The Former 12 Year Old Genius."

Gary Lucas, John French, Denny Walley, and Mark Boston a/k/a The Magic Band play this ferocious Van Vliet instrumental composition from the Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band album "Trout Mask Replica" live on Swedish TV 4 on a breakfast show airing May 26th 2006.
